try kissing a girl, she tastes like cherry chapstick & blogging break!

From the more! magazine at one point!
For many, wearing make-up is a part of an everyday routine where one would spend about 5-10 minutes...for me, it's literally 'WHERE'S MY MASCARA? OH FOUND IT, LET'S GO' so I'm probably the least experienced girl out there, oh dear.

But fear not, it's something I've been interested in so the first thing on my agenda is bright lipstick colours! We know that since it's a big statement, tone down the rest of your make up and jewellery, it's all about the attention of them fiine lips.

A mini step-by-step guide and tips I came across on applying it so;
  • Moisture them, exfoliate them, blot them- to aim for perfection, one needs a perfect foundation! Based on my personal experiences, I would recommend these; Sweet Lips Lip Scrub and Honey Trap Lip Balm.
  • After, line your lips with lip liner (in the colour of your lipstick or to your natural lip colour!) to define them- again, these are budget-friendly liners; Glimmersticks Lip liner and Lasting Finish 1000 kisses Lip Liner. Although some prefer to skip this step!
  • Now to apply the lipstick! There's a wide selection of colours out there (these are some suggested ones, here and here) so once chosen, apply it to the bottom lip and then the upper! Some prefer doing it via fingertips or brush so choose your method wisely!
  • For finishing touches, blot again and define them a wee bit more- apply concealer around the edges and blend in!

I suppose pictures and videos do better talking than words so here are videos I watched to help put these points together; College Fashion- How to Get the Perfect Red Lip, The Perfect Red Lips tutorial and Red Lips tutorial- How to apply red lipstick! Other pointers from here too; Easy Tips Wearing Red Lipstick, Guest Post- How to apply red lipstick and Apply Red Lipstick!

All of these have little difference in method but remember it's up to you! Experiment, play around and who knows, maybe you'll come across a perfect combination!

I think it's time. Time to abandon my blog for some time -cries- I have a great number of exams in the next month or so, and I'm so easily distracting by blogging! So I've decided to take a nearly-two-month-break (crikey, sounds like a VERY long time!) but I'll be back with bigger and better posts! Au revoir for now, looking forward to the day we meet again!

For those with exams, interviews, tests and etc, good luck too!

thank you Melli for the Versatile Blogger Award!

Melli, behind Casual-Beauty, had awarded me this award and it really has made my day, thank you! I really recommend you checking out her blog! As a part of this (that feels so awesome to say), I myself shall do the following;

1) Thank the person that nominated you with a link back. (done!)
2) Tell 7 things about you.
3) Pass this on to 10 newly discovered blogs and let them know they received the award.

So here are seven facts about me, which MAY be interesting...or at least, odd (all pictures below are from my Instagram page);

1. Everyone has that 'it' music artist/band and mine is Ne-Yo (<3) Daaayum, I love that guy, his voice, his music, lyrics and everything. Favourite songs? Gosh, I quite love Mad and Do You and Miss Independent and and and...(I'll stop there, but I really do love him!).

2. I like to play the pia-pia-piano! I'm actually trying to learn it by myself with the help of many books, very difficult might I add!

3. I have rice and curry almost everyday- oddly, it's not something to get bored of easily!

4. Favourite kind of cake is lemon cake! I make great lemon cake, I actually might later this holiday...

5. I own more brooches than any other pieces/bits of clothing- achievement, eh?

6. I speak French (a wee bit) mainly because I really admire the language (admit it, it does sound great)! I'd quite like to go to France one day properly, but there are places like Tokyo, Shanghai, Sydney, Barcelona, Verona, Venice...(looooong list) that I'd like to visit, once I'm a millionaire, yes that'll happen.

7. (Running out of facts) I've tried all the Twinnings tea, mwhaha. Everything from Lady Grey to Chai to English Breakfast, you name it! I'm soon to try some bizarre exotic ones so I'm buzzed for that.

To pick 10 other newly discovered bloggers was no doubt a REALLY hard task (there's just so many!) so I'll give you guys the following and hope you all agree with me!

Sara from 'sara says'- a really down-to-heart blogger (with amazing shoes)
Hannah from 'hannah alehandra'- amazing pictures and read!
Molly from 'She Wore Fashion Out'- someone with a great wardrobe and sense of style
Melissa from 'MELISSAos Blog'- love her outfits!
Maria from 'Vita di Moda'- a truly devoted and original blogger
Anna from 'ThisIsAYes.com'- lovely blog, with nice pictures and really informative and great finds
Jessica from 'Pins, Needles & Fashion'- why hadn't I come across her blog earlier?!
Silva from 'Silvia's closet'- her blog HAS to have the mention
Patricia from 'Top Ten Image'- great fashion advice and lover of bright colours!
And finally, Fixer Sis from 'Everything can be fixed'- great blog, great read!

I really do enjoy reading other people's blog so don't hesitate to link me to them (and there are so many I wish I could feature too)! Happy Holidays guys, any plans for the Easter? I've mainly got to crack down on revision *sighs*...

wishlist #6- a shirt made of blue denim

I'm starting to think that these 'wishlist' posts are becoming way too frequent which could be a good thing, since it gives me something to talk about OR a really bad thing, and shows that I'm in need to retail therapy. Scary stuff. That aside, this wishlist item is a little different, because I've actually been able to save some dosh! As the warmer weather approaches, we ditch our woolly jumpers and coats and reach out for our beloved denim shirt. I had seen this beautiful thing via Topshop and it was magically in the shops too which made me overbearingly happy :D

Here I am, without my head. My hair went 'poof' so voila, my shirt instead!
To tell you guys the truth, what mainly inspired me to grab a denim shirt was this post from Kryzuy.com which is first and formerly a great blog! I actually wore this (added a scarf) to the informal interview I had today, at St. Barnabas Hospice to apply to a voluntary placement and the great news is that I start soon!

A jolly week so far, hehe.

Oh to add, as a tweeter/someone with twitter, I noticed one of the trends was that today is World Autism And Asperger's Awareness Day, so here are a few lines of its purpose and heyho, it never hurts to know a little bit more;

'Autism and Asperger syndrome are both part of a range of related developmental disorders known as autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). They begin in childhood and last through adulthood.'

Symptoms include, 'Problems and difficulties with social interaction', 'Impaired language and communication skills' and 'unusual patterns of thought and physical behaviour'.

And as for the outlook, 'Children with moderate symptoms who have average or above-average intelligence often grow up to be independent adults with jobs, long-term relationships and children. Children with more severe symptoms who have below-average intelligence are likely to find it difficult to live independently as adults and may need additional care and assistance. However, there is no reason why they cannot enjoy a good quality of life.

So that's that so I hope you all feel enlightened (possibly, you may have probably already known!) and have a lovely Easter Holiday ahead! Any plans? Comments are always appreciated!

outfit #7- first dates in the season of Spring

Bearing in mind it was officially the first day of Spring last weekend, now loom over us are deadly exams, stressful work or detestable coursework. So there's never a harm of kicking-back and taking a break every now and then! Now for all those in a lovey-dovey relationship, I've put together a very casual (in my opinion!) date outfit, which is perfect for them unpredictable sunny spots and miserable blues. So whilst looking beautiful and confident, you'll be prepared for the worst AND have a good time! But do not fear, single ladies and gents (mainly ladies, sorry guys!), these outfit are versatile for every daytime event!

Leggings/Trousers - Top - Shirt - Bag - Shoes - Peace Necklace - Ankh Necklace
For those new to my blog, this blog features trouser-kind outfits, to not single out any readers who prefer them! Like myself, I prefer trousers/jeans so I opted for the traditional black ones and paired it with an unique top, which beautiful stripes and dots! Along with, throw on a denim shirt as a jacket and roll up them sleeves and put on a neutral pair of shoes! Now now, what's that I hear? Lack of colour? Lies; which is exactly why I included this vibrant purple side bag and two long chain necklaces.

Collar - Top - Skirt - Bag - Shoes - Tights
To start off, similar to the trends this year, this skirt is a way to include a tad of Aztec in your wardrobe! Pair with classic neutrals such as this black top and navy shoes. For those more daring, these spots are perfectly cute and the collar works great overall! To add, I found this red bag really original and thought, 'Why not?' and voila, I give you a mix of different textures and trends!

Which outfit do you prefer? Any items in particular you bagsy? I'm actually buying myself a denim shirt in the next few days too- which also reminds me, I have an interview for a voluntary placement so wish me luck! And ninjaly I've put together a surprise birthday party for my younger sister, aren't I nice?! At this rate, she knows nothing...I hope.

Holidays have started so, just to let you know, I am gleaming with happiness (mwhaha)!

i'm listening, i want to learn more

On one fine Tuesday, I had another trip to Manchester and hoped to see the university...instead, we headed to a Methodist Church. A tad disappointing but it was a bunch of professors and doctors who put up a great lecture, which was proven to be pretty resourceful! There wasn't much to take pictures of but I hope you all appreciate my lovely photography!

hey hey beautiful city of Manchester! Lovin' these trips, can't you tell?!
Them lecture lasted a fair bit of time, glad we were let out!
Just waiting for our bus/coach, lazy bus driver
Boredom resorts to me taking pictures of anything...
ahhaa, this shop made me laugh for some odd reason
Latter that week, there was...some random event happening (actually have no clue of its purpose) but there were a few stalls of food and art, random owls and some archery so it was a pretty fine day out since weather was great! Also brought a blue brooch, pearl necklace and some cherry earrings from charity shops so woo, good times, eh?

Never saw an owl till this day!
They really do spin their head right round, right round
I give full credit to my absolute beautiful friend whom owns a Nikon and let me feature this picture here!
As well as this one!
And this! (except this owl is a tad creepy)
I got free olives randomly which tasted so good, considering I'm not a huge fan!
Recycled art at its best!
It was pretty impressive, might I add.

So it was another exhausting week so I'm glad I finally posted about it- lots of pictures and I'm mighty proud! But it now looks I'll be anti-social for a while in the blogger-life-o'-mine so I shall blog again soon, my friends!

face your fears, look with different eyes

I bring you swiftly onto my next trip; Leicester University! Firstly I've always been drawn to Leicester as its city and its university just happens to be ace. What I love about the place is the multicultural nature, its liveliness and it's looks pretty fine and dandy- especially lovin' the whole Indian thang, brought my prom dress from there last year! Ah, good times.

ahoy, Leicester Uni- make waaaay
It's a building yeah, a building. Fascinating shtuff.
Again, fascinating...oh dear .
Bet you guys didn't know where I was?
Heading to some students' rooms, hii Leicester city!
I really ponder about life at university :/
That following Saturday, my brother came home from university to spend some chill-time with family. There wasn't really a lot to do but it was good to get outside and go for a walk! And have ice cream, oh la laa.

Aye, call it the only purpos why my town exists! Still, it's beautiful.

Opted for chocolate ice cream, gosh I'm dull.

THERE'S WRITING ON THE WALL, IT'S AN OMEN.
Sorry for its lateness, exams and coursework has taken over my life but I'll be updating every now and then! So don't feel the urge to betray me and abandon me. Or even look away. I'll pinky promise you cake? (No joke, I reckon I may make some, depending if I have time!)

wishlist #5- happy face cross body bag

I bring to you the magic creation to have EVER existed and shall be claimed mine, with absolute guarantee; this crazy-ass happy face cross body bag, from ASOS. How I came across this, you ask? It all started on one fine warm day where I thought, 'Wow, a little bit of sunshine really makes my day' and then it struck me through rays of sunshine that yellow is a beautiful colour and on that note, I love bags and felt that this spring was all about cute quirky accessories! I just didn't think I'll end up finding such an awesome bag, so hands off, it's mine! (mwhahahaa)

wishing on a smile, in 6 simple steps

I'd often be described as 'optimistic/too happy/cheerful//loud/noisy/irrit-..' umm, I'll stop there... Idea is, like myself, everyone will have them good and content moments but alongside that, everyone will inevitably encounter sad (and worse) times as well. So following what the legendary Bob Marley says, 'everything's gonna be alright, don't worry, be happy', I've put together a couple of pointers and advise for when you're down in the dumps and get back that beautiful smile of your face!

- first, as Jessie J says, 'it's okay not  to be okay' - everyone has their ups and downs and regardless of your situation, things do happen and we all need alone time (although never refuse Ben and Jerry's company).

- any kind of distraction is good, it'll get your mind off it and rethink. Whether it's the soppy-kind or completely the opposite to your mood, it really does help! For many (including I), music is the best remedy, and turning to ice cream always puts me in a happy mood (downfalls; possible chances of brain breeze + excess is never good).

- this one annoys me a little, but just think 'it could be worse'. To be honest, when someone's a tad upset or completely lost their marbles, it's like saying it's not that baaaad and belittles their feelings- but think about it a second, it really could have been worse, couldn't it?

-this one is a VERY handy tip- make weird faces at the mirror, whether you feel happy or not, purely because it's amusing to laugh at your face.

-give it some time so literally get out the picture before you make things seem worse, or even worse. Whenever we're mad, angry, we get told 'take a chill pill, dude' but in reality, it probably means you're overreacting a tad or maybe you're failing to see something important.

- 'good morning, good afternoon and good night!' Sometimes the littlest things can make your day or even someone's, all of which asks for little effort. Whether it's opening the door, greeting them or lending a dime, it feels good for both yourself and others around you!

I really do babble quite a bit but I genuinely mean it- stop and think for a second, life is too short (and we're ALL gonna die anyways this year;) ) so make every moment worth it so you never ever have to regret it!

Do it because you want to.
Do it because I said so (mwhaha).

wishlist #4- eye test raglan pullover

I suddenly came across this beautiful jumper/pullover considering British weather sucks so a casual jumper is a must! As soon as I saw this I couldn't get over the hilarity of its relevance to me- I have some kind of dodgy eye condition and I detest going through another eye test, 'I'm guessing it's a N? No, wait a R! Or could it be a P? Actually, sod it, I can't see it". *awkward silence* Anyhow, that reminds me, I'm getting some new glasses hopefully around the end of this month, similar black frames but a tad bigger and beautiful! Can't wait!

It's impossible to not love this jumper! I'm right, aren't I? Am I right? Of course I am.
